Free to Be You and Me (Marriage Edition)

We love NYCgo.com. It’s a great resource for people visiting NYC to see what’s hip and happening in greater New York. From exhibitions to film screenings to Broadway to NYC Restaurant Week, this official City guide has it all. It’s also a great resource for New Yorkers who need to be refreshed on things to do.

We don’t always love the topic of marriage, particularly all the stereotypical wedding exclusivity stuff, the annoying girl loudly planning her wedding on the phone adjacent to you at work, etc. That is annoying. But we were really touched to happen upon this media finding today. Apparently sometime after Mayor Bloomberg ushered in Marriage Equality, NYCgo.com added a new feature image on their homepage, “NYC I Do”, with a series of cake topper dolls and a progressive message:

Wow! We love being single and independent. We love it. Buuut, the idea of being able to wed right alongside our gay boyfriends makes us joyous and totally proud of New York!
